Crush washers on oil screen/oil temp probe ?

2 questions regarding the crush washers on engine oil ports.

1.Seam on the inside (engine block)side or outside
2. What is the proper torque, I read somewhere finger tight till contact then 135 degrees?

Any thoughts?

I suppose the info should be in the book of words -
I changed the oil on a peugeot 306 HDI the other day - I put the 'seam' under the bolt head and tightened carefully (you can feel the washer crushing) and then gave it a technical tweak

But for aviation applications there should be a torque loading for a crush washer - and they are usually a fairly low torque loading.

As a rule I do not try to remember torque loadings but ISTR that Canberra brake banjo crushwashers were 15 Lb Inches.

1. The seam goes against the engine boss and the unbroken face against the plug's flange.

2. Depends on size AN900-16 to -20 then it's 135 degrees (1" to 1.25" i.d.).

That's according to the Lycoming Overhaul Manual Table iii
