OK - got the link to work now (missed the bit about the space between blog & spot - there is a poor joke in there about how I've manged to overcome having only half a brain to realise my dream of flying but I'm not going to tease that one out )
Yes - it is inspiring - it's a great example of not giving into preconceptions about capability however they arise - its also a salutary illustration of that old truism that it is better to have tried & failed than never to have tried at all (subject to the normal caveats about not applying it to activities like chain saw juggling etc).
Frankly, the way she skips over starting a family (as though that isn't a life time of commitment, responsibility, hard work & unknown challenge in & of itself) despite her injury is a huge indicator of he character - were I asked I would say that getting a PPL pales into insignificance against that daunting task.
She writes well, has a great story to tell & undoubtedly has an admirable approach to life that is worth communicating - certainly very inspiring, so thanks for the heads up on that.

Thanks enq i had a similar accident so thought id share that.
I too had a dream of commercial pilot but can sadly not achieve it. My left arm is better than hers but not good enough for class one. Broke my back too, i can walk (even though was told i wouldn't) but still have very bad leg and back pain nearly every day :-/
Reading her story helped me think differently about my situation, to be more thankful for being able to achieve the ppl not looking at what i couldn't get!
Lifes short, make the most of it you never know when someone is going to hit you on a your motorbike at 70mph and break 8 bones :-/
