The Australian system is pretty simple and just a bit of Googling removes the need for speculation in that regard:

REPCON - Aviation Confidential Reporting Scheme

I imagine most reports are mundane and the odd indecent pic would indeed help get attention

A CAS bust is a different form which the ATCO's use for breach of the ANO and its very rare a pilot ever see's that form and most don't know about it.

I think they just allow the voluntary stuff just so they don't have a seprate system for it.

Personally I would use chirp. MOR's are pretty useless to pilots.
A CAS bust would be reported by ATC using the ATC Occurence Report, which is used for all things MOR related by ATC.

Only if it was felt justified would the additional form CA939 Report on alleged infringements of air navigation legislation be submitted.

What happens to the ATC mor's do you actually get anything back after filling one in?

The pilots ones disappear off into black hole never to be heard of again. The vast majority of the ones I have done have all been tech related mind you.

She still has her radio show which I have on occasion listen to and she doesn't seem to have changed.
Her next radio show is at 0730-0900 on Wed 18 Dec, plus an evening show at 1700-1900 the same day.

Well, the unit I work at our own Safety and Investigations department do most of the follow up action and we get feedback on every report filed from them.

Otherwise with regards aircraft, to the best of my knowledge, under 5,700kgs the feedback from the CAA is made available on the CAA website.

Airline reports, see this Airworthiness Communication for how they should be reported back to your company and ergo onwards to you (assuming you work for an airline).

http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/AIRCOM200919.pdf

Bar one or two incidents over many years where CA939 action was involved, I've never had any direct contact from the CAA regarding any MOR I've filed.

O well. Never heard anything back ever. And I don't know any pilots that have. In the UK. Mind as the vast majority of my MOR's were technical related I presume they just get sent straight to the CAMO to be dealt with.

Same here. I filed the Dutch version of a MOR by e-mail and never even got an automated acknowledgement back. Let alone any indication that a human had looked at it.

In this case it was about a nuthead flying a kite above the Scheveningen beach at an altitude well over 800'. Definitely safety related, and I would have loved to know about any follow-up.

There was nothing about this in their last quarterly bulletin about this either. Maybe in the next one, but that one isn't out yet.

This has to be one of the most interesting threads I've ever read. Granted I don't yet have any form of license, does this mean that, according to Spanner, I shouldn't be on PPRuNe?

I would be very interested to know the final outcome. Did HotCloud and Spanner meet? Did they sort it out? Has spanner become the new Judge, Jury and Executioner at the CAA?

I need answers!!

As a newbie here I've just read the whole thread on the edge of my seat waiting for a climactic conclusion that never materialised. What a shame!

The reason there's no conclusion is because neither of them can prove their right.
The only other possible way I can think of to conclude this is by organising a scrap between them both in a disused hangar somewhere. The winner wins the argument. Sell tickets and donate to charity

Hi Guys

The reason the Thread went dead was because someone made a complaint against me and the Moderators PM'd me requesting I made no further Posts in connection with the incident.

I respect the wishes of all the parties involved and my final comment must be: 'no comment'!

Cheers

SITW

Seems a bit miserable, but thanks for the update!

Many clearly disagreed with your comments, but I can't imagine why censorship would ever have been appropriate when no offensive comments were made (IMO).

Ultimately, though, it sounds like there would never have been an agreement. Probably best that the thread died or it might have gone on forever

I wish to make it clear that at no time have I made a complaint, indeed I strongly believe in free speech even though I may not agree with what had been said. I would be surprised though if a third party made a complaint.

I have noted that post number 204 states the following:-

"Spanner,

Either go and meet as invited or stop commenting in this thread.

You have made your point quite clear and now causing ill feeling.

Kestrel"

To date "Spanner in the Werks" has not taken me up on my invitation, the offer still stands.

Just to clarify "Spanner" were you referring to post 204 or a PM?
