Fantastic stuff.

I wonder what glide ratio they get. I read somewhere it can be 2:1.

Amazing, I would have thought the parasitical drag from the massive pair of balls would made this flight impossible !

I did say the glide ratio is only 2:1

Now I know why.

Seems to have missed out landing .... ?

Like a kid with a pram wheel go cart ... about 3/4 of the way down the hill you suddenly realise you didn't fit any brakes.

The landing is a pitch up to gain height (if necessary) and parachute deployment.

Oh no its not going to be another chute debate - is it?

Personally I think he should have made the forced landing without resorting to the chute.

In theory it should be possible by flying up the side of a steep hill until the speed bleeds right off.

A few years back someone was planning to land without a parachute - I think on some kind of bouncy-castle contraption. I don't think they store KE well enough to do a good flare.

The final glide angle looks a lot better than 2:1

He probably got sucked into the marketing hype, had insufficient training, and a bit of a wimp so the chute was the best option

On a serious note how on earth do you train for that?

There was a programme on last night on TV with a guy doing just the same thing, the biggest buzz is how close to the ground they are

there are several Wingsuit vids on u-tube, inc. the guy who strapped a couple of R/C model jets to his outfit and carried the fuel in hotwater-bottles slipped inside his jacket.

Am I the only one to watch this video and keep muttering "pull up, pull up, pull up"
