PPL JAA School in Florida??????

PPL JAA School in Florida??????
Hi Everyone
I have spent the last week or so researching where I should do my PPL JAA Certificate.
The schools that I've been looking at are as follows:
1.Orlando Flight Training FL
2.European Flight Training Fort Pierce
3.Europe American Aviation FL
4.American Aviation Academy San Diego CA
5.EASA Ormond Beach FL
6.Naples Air Center FL
I have read good and bad reviews about all so I'm a little confused any input I would appreciate.

I don't have any advice other than to say that I also did all my research recently and ended up choosing European Flight Training. My decision was primarily based on reading other posts on PPRuNe and some PMs I received from other members.
I don't start training until October so I can't comment on what they are actually like for training. All I can say is that so far they have been extremely helpful in answering all of my questions (and I have had a lot of them) and the application process has been relatively painless. The only real pain was the amount of paperwork - which will be the same regardless of the school.
I am sure many others will chip in advising you not to go to the US but I will stay out of that arguement.

I thought Angel City Flyers can also do a full JAA PPL...
My plan is to train my 14 year old son and when he is 17 he will go to the USA to do both FAA and JAA separate and standalone PPLs.
I've been to the USA a number of times and IMHO California is much more interesting than Florida, if you are going to be there for say 8 weeks. Certainly the girls are much more interesting in California

Thanks all for your in put so far.
High Flyer I have them high on my list in the top 3. I have heard mainly good things about them.
Also thanks SO Cal I will be asking and checking to see they have all their correct certificates.
I have narrowed it down to 4 schools now

There is nothing on the Angel City Flyers website to suggest that they offer a JAA PPL(A). They seem to be one of the many US flight schools who offer a full FAA programme and subsequent 'conversion' with a JAA based associate, in this case Stapleford Flight Centre. Thanks to the CAA's new policy of keeping everything secret, Standards Document 31 has not been updated for 4 months so it is not possible to be certain.
It is also worth mentioning that any non JAA FI instructing on a JAA Course should have a Certificate of Authorisation to conduct JAA instruction in accordance with App 1 to JAR-FCL 1.300.

Hi read your comments, we live in England in Manchester, my son is 17 (just) and should have his private licence in the next two weeks, he wants to be a commercial pilot, but he has plenty of time, he first wants a jar and instructors licence, where would you recomend, we are on limited income but he is so good at flying, he flew 3 different planes solo on his 16th birthday, his instrutor says he can fly better than him, so we want so much to give him his chance but are afraid we might not be able to afford it, any advise would be really helpful.

EFT Fort Pierce PPL
I spent the best part of a month at EFT in Feburary - didn't quite have time to finish my PPL -but did that back in Alderney a few weeks later.
As always, plusses and minuses:
Plus
Good British instructors maintaining tight standards with good record keeping.
Fort Pierce is a busy airfield with 3 operational runways - great experience of being 3rd or 4th in the circuit and getting used to tower and ground control!
Minus
Accomodation - ok if you like 3rd rate camping, but otherwise find somewhere else to stay.
Finger prints - having spent weeks filling in forms, there was still a 3 day delay getting approval to fly - suggest you try and get them done before you go. Same for any school of course.
Don't believe the travel agents 'puff' about Florida - may be better than UK, but you still lose days to weather.
Overall I would be happy to recommend EFT - Matthew was great - but as he said, that first solo was pleasantly quiet!
