Post Why can't British government officials be this dedicated?

Budapest, Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Three Hungarian local government officials in Kunmadaras, near Budapest, ended their hunger strike after the state said it would start talks regarding ownership of a local airport, news agency MTI reported.

Sandor Marki, the mayor of the town 130 kilometers east of Budapest, his deputy Lajos Mate and Sandor Acs, chairman of the town's social and health committee, started their protest nine days ago regarding the former Soviet air base, the agency said.

The officials said closing the airport has damaged the town's economy and want Hungary to give ownership to the local authority as compensation, MTI reported earlier.
