What are your flying Objectives in 2009

Lister's thread about flying hours in 2008 got me thinking about the year ahead. So I was wondering what people were intending. Hopefully the thread will allow people to share good ideas.

Mine are:

1) Start my IMC training

2) To fly at least 30 hrs (modest I know, but I have to be realistic)

3) To visit at least 5 (new to me) airfields. One of which will be Brunty to see the Vulcan and Lightnings.

4) Take more pax up for the joy of flight.

That's it for starters. If the thread develops I could resurrect it say every quarter for and end-of-term update.

Regards,

C23

o Pass Air Law in Jan
o Get the other exams out of the way before summer.
o Start training at the start of the summer or late spring
o Logged at least 35 P/UT hours before the end of the year.

Everyone has to start somewhere, right!?

If you are going from Redhill and want some talking ballast then give us a shout. Wouldn't mind seeing them myself.

1) Start regular flying after a break of nearly three months
2) Moving to a flying club more convenient to where I live.
3) I have promised to fly my brother to Oxford when he visits from South Africa in March. (He's an academic)
4) Get my night rating.
5) Get checked out on a PA-28.
6) France?
7) Scotland again?

Interesting....

Keep my job
Get my IMC
Get my FAA piggy back license
Get revalidated

Although, after the past few weeks of weather, I'd be happy to get airborne and south of Guildford!

1. Fly to the UK/Scotland/Wales a few times this year again with the usual crew, and take in Spamfield/Popham Microlight rally and the LAA rally.
2. Fly to Blois in France for the ULM Rally in August.
3. Land in the 32 counties of Ireland in one day and raise a good bit of dough for the hospice movement in the process.
4. Fly as many new types as possible.
5. Fly a flex-wing P1.

1) Finish my instrument ticket
2) earn my commercial power ticket
3) earn my commercial glider ticket

Of the 3 I think the first will be the most challenging.

As I've just finished my IR, I'll be looking to complete MCC then get a job and a type rating once I have the world's most expensive book issued.

I'd also like to finish my round UK flight that I tried to do back in March, but didn't quite make it out of England and now that I will have a UK license, I would like to make a few trips into Europe - shame that Templehof is now closed as I'd have loved to have gone there

1. Complete last 2 hours of night rating.

2. Cross channel check-out.

3. Fly >30 hours (only 20 this year, mainly due to weather/time constraints).

4. Give serious thought to aircraft share. Current microlight share is great, but I have an eye on the hours 'counting' towards any future plans, so a share in a group A plane might be better.

5. Do a long trip away, maybe overnight somewhere.

Hi BRL, yes I'll be going from Redhill, and sure I'll be happy to take you. I'll give you a shout. Not sure when it'll be yet.

Everybody else - good stuff, keep it coming.

To fly 500km in the UK without an engine
To fly 300km at 80km/h (again without an engine)
To improve my aerobatics
To continue to teach good airmanship
To help others to progress beyond what they thought they were capable of
