Potential Twin Group in East Anglia

Potential Twin Group in East Anglia
We are in the very early stages of putting together a new twin engine group in East Anglia . Our motivation is to provide ourselves and like-minded pilots with a cost-effective way of accumulating hours on a twin engined aircraft. Subject to the availability of suitable insurance, we are initially seeking pilots who have finished their ATPL groundschool and have either a CPL or IR and are aiming for a career in commercial aviation, but anyone would be welcome to get in touch with a view to joining.
With low twin-hour pilots in mind, we would purchase an aircraft similar in age and specification to that used for training. The group members will provide capital for the purchase of a Piper Seneca or similar aircraft which will be parked in Norfolk or Suffolk . It would be capable of IFR and members will be free to use it as they see fit. The aircraft may be available for hire to non-group members.
We think there is a gap in the market for this group and therefore we are seeking expressions of interest from pilots who would either seriously consider putting in capital to start the group or be interested in hiring a twin in our neck of the woods. Obviously rates for members would be lower than for hirers, but cost details will be finalised in due course.
We look forward to receiving comments and interest.

You are seriously limiting your market by asking only for CPL/ATPL/IR type pilots. There are plenty of competent experienced PPL MEP pilots out there.
It's just another aeroplane , it's not rocket science.

Please note the wording of the original post: "anyone would be welcome to get in touch with a view to joining".
PPL MEP pilots would be welcome to join the group.
The point of mentioning ATPL/CPL/IR pilots is not to exclude PPL MEP pilots - quite the reverse - it's to make it clear that we are including those 'wannabe' commercial pilots for whom no affordable hire has been available in the past.

MEP.. Twin purchase
Hi..your idea to purchase a twin for this purpose sounds good,
I am a MEP instructor and have owned an operated twin engine aeroplanes for many years,my only word of warning is dont under estimate the cost of operating a light twin,
they can runaway with the money...alot of smaller flying schools operate them at cost as having a twin on the fleet adds to the schools standing..twin flying is the best but you will need a deep pocket..
PS Live very close as well..

Of course. We may be able to come up with schemes for selling blocks of hours which would mean the aircraft could be taken away for extended periods of time. It's early days!

Err, the precise location of the group can be decided once we have enough interest to ensure it is economically feasible. The geographic spread of the interested potential members will probably determine the choice of airfield.
