Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning

It's that time of the year again - time for the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of the Macmillan Nurses. Sadly some of us will need their help at some time or will know someone who does. This is their big fundraising effort.
The Flight Centre at Halfpenny Green (EGBO) is holding an eight days long event so that as many people as possible can attend. I received the following email from them outlining what they are hoping to do.
Dear all,

Yes its back again this year and its going to be bigger and better than last year with more supporters.

Last year we raised £200 for Macmillan Cancer Relief by taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, we are organising the event again this year and want to raise more.

Our target this year is £250.

This year it is from Saturday 22nd September 2007 until Sunday 30th September.

There will be cakes and biscuits and cookies and things for sale and taking donations for coffee and tea too.

Also this year we are having a raffle. Its £2 a ticket and will be drawn on the Friday 28th September 2007. Including in the lists of prizes are:

60 minutes flying time
20 minutes aerobatic flight in a YAK 52 (courtesy of John Calverley)
2 Sunday lunch main meals at The Fox
Set of hand made Greetings Cards (courtesy of ZenaArcher.co.uk)
Bottles of Champagne
Bottles of Wine (from Halfpenny Green Vineyard)
Plus other prizes.

Many Thanks for your support

See you soon

The raffle has been approved by Macmillan.
If any of you are thinking of flying in to EGBO during those dates please would you consider walking a few extra yards from the Control tower (where you pay your landing fee) to The Flight Centre and buying a cup of coffee (and anything else you may fancy)? With any luck we should get at least one day of flyable weather during that time.

If anyone else is organising one of these events please add yours to this list so we can help Macmillan as much as possible.

Nothing to do with flying, but there is one in our village hall, tomorrow (Friday) 1000-1200, if you are anywhere near J11 M42/A42 and want a coffee and contribute.
HERE and zoom in a couple of times.

Very well indeed thank you BRL - so far they have a total of at least £500 and probably nearer £600. I'll let you know when the final amount is announced. Thanks for making it a sticky, shame only Unifox added another event, but I hope all went well there too.
