Joke
Passengers on a small commuter plane are waiting for the flight to leave. They're getting a little impatient, but the airport staff has assured them that the pilots will be there soon, and the flight can take off immediately after that. The entrance opens, and two men walk up the aisle, dressed in pilots' uniforms-both are wearing dark glasses, one is using a seeing-eye dog, and the other is tapping his way up the aisle with a cane. Nervous laughter spreads through the cabin; but the men enter the cockpit, the door closes, and the engines start up. The passengers begin glancing nervously around, searching for some sign that this is just a little practical joke. None is forthcoming.
The plane moves faster and faster down the runway, and people at the windows realize that they're headed straight for the water at the edge of the airport territory. As it begins to look as though the plane will never take off, that it will plough into the water, panicked screams fill the cabin-but at that moment, the plane lifts smoothly into the air.
The passengers relax and laugh a little sheepishly, and soon they have all retreated into their magazines, secure in the knowledge that the plane is in good hands.
Up in the cockpit, the co-pilot turns to the pilot and says, "You know, Bob, one of these days, they're going to scream too late, and we're all gonna die."

If I'm not very much mistaken that's the Kent and Canterbury Hospital at the bottom of the cricket ground shot:
Memories of a long hot summer as a student (nearly 40 years ago!)watching
the cricket from an upper balcony when I should have been working.
Safe flying

The K+C staff are now often given free tickets to some games...beats the balcony I suppose!

A recent trip to Duxford.
1- Not the easiest place to find - Woonton Strip
Airship hangar en route to Duxford
A novel way to discourage parking!
The American Air Crew Memorial
Looking along part of the Memorial
My Chauffeur and his minder
I think we need to leave NOW! CBs passing Duxford.
En route home to EGBO
It was a lovely day and we managed to dodge all the CBs and nasty weather.

Landed there end of August returning from Istanbul LTFJ and paid the 239 Euros for a day's parking & handling fees (since we arrived night IFR and day VFR only Megara LGMG GA field closes at 1900L )
It was interesting taxying at night from the westerly rwy all the way to the GA parking at NE side in a "little" GA aircraft in midst of all the commercial traffic via the wide (for a GA pilot) taxiways.
