US Airshow tragedy
Just had a phone call from a friend in the States telling me of a mid-air.
Apparently the Masters of Disaster airshow team lost two biplanes and two pilots at Moose Jaw Airshow this w/e. The team comprises of Jim LeRoy, Bobby Younkin and Jimmy Franklin.
I undestand that leRoy landed but Younkin and Franklin perished.
Younkin was a well respected home builder/restorer and Franklin is "famous" for his jet powered Waco - which I believe was destroyed on impact.
Terrible tragedy witnessed by a crowd of over 20 000.

Bobby Younkin also performed aerobatic routines in a Learjet 23 and Beech 18 - a remarkable performer. He was flying the well known Steve Wolfe super-sized Pitts "Samson".
A very sad end to a terrible week.
