Tiger Moth at Cambridge is a must but probably not what was being looked for. The Shaw Stearman was badly damaged in a recent accident but there are others at Old Buckenham. The easiest to get at are Harvards. I think there is an operation somewhere on the South Coast. BUT best bet is get over to the U.S where there is plenty of access at semi sensible prices. Kissimmee (Florida) has harvards to ride.
As for self fly you are going to have to be an ace pilot prepared to assist cleaning etc and find someone who might just need an aircrfat ferrying or buy into a group.

BTW, at the risk of being pedantic, the Harvard and T-6/SNJ are not entirely identical. Most of the differences (mixture control, etc.) are quite minor, but I understand that the T-6's upward aileron travel is limited (15 degrees rather than 30), so the roll rate is supposedly slower than the Harvard's (this according to the book Harvard! The North American Trainers in Canada).

There is a T-6 in Shoreham, check www.warbirdflying.com for contact details as I can't tell you anything about conversion costs, but it seems to be incredibly expensive.
A 60min "look but don't touch" flight is 495 quid, no details on conversions available on thes site.

£495 per hour!!! I would hope that you get a break on that rate if you sign up for a full conversion course. The website doesn't provide many details, but it does say:
Chippik, please check your PMs.
Waldo, I have also sent you a PM. To whet your appetite, here more information on the CHAA (an article entitled 'The Yellow Horde' of Harvards still going strong). Unfortunately, the video clip is no longer available, but there are some photos. See you at Tillsonburg!
A full conversion course is available, which covers all system and safety procedures and aerobatic parameters.
Perhaps a stepping stone to other warbirds, or a delight to fly in its own right. Available to rent for solo flying, subject to certain conditions. Ring for details.
