Burt Rutan's Private Space Craft

I feel that this web-site deserves to be on the "Private Flying" forum as the project was privately funded. Whatever though, the pictures on here are truly awesome.

You can meet both Burt and his brother Dick at the Manx Festival of Aviation in August. They are presenting a lecture on the Friday night at the Manx Museum, Douglas.

Tickets available soon from the website :

Er, excuse me? 'Manx Festival of Aviation'? Dick and Burt Rutan are going to the 'Manx Festival of Aviation'?

Why, please?

QDM

P.S. I hear that Burkina Faso is running a terrific aviation festival this year. Perhaps we'll see Alex Henshaw and Neville Duke there. Maybe a guest appearance by Ray Hanna?

...........because I met Dick at the Reno Air races last September, having been invited out there by the organisers as a guest. We exchanged cards and things went on from there.

Manx Radio A bit of a coup really isn't it.

Come and see them. They will be doing a lecture in the Manx Museum in Douglas on the Friday night as well as one at the RAeS HQ on Thursday and one at St Andrews University.

If you want to come to the airshow and meet them, then just turn up. If you want to go to one of the lectures, keep an eye on the website for ticketing info.

Quite right, you could always go to Burkina Faso, but the IOM is a lot closer and you wouldn't have to have a rabies jab .

Emerald airways are doing some cheap flights at the minute, £37 return from LPL, and the Ferry company is offering tickets at £10 each way.
