A new entry window to PPRuNe ..?

My automated sign in to PPRuNe is now followed by this message on a blank page:

I've not seen this before - anywhere on the interweb. Is anyone else seeing this, or can anyone enlighten me as to what this is and why I am seeing it ..? It was first noticed this morning (Australian time).

My immediate reaction was some kind of hijack? Then again perhaps not; but how could I be sure either way ? So I'll ask.

Firefox browser (current) + Windows 10...

FOR :uhoh:

PS Further check shows that it also occurs on my W7 machine with either Firefox or Chrome ...

Not just you, happening to me today too.
I use Chrome.
Others mentioned it on this thread https://www.pprune.org/jet-blast/609...l#post10172417
Strange.

about 10 hours ago they were struggling and the site was unusable.

That window is a denial of service protection feature. So I can only presume someone was trying to take the site down and they have had to turn it on allow the site to function.

Happened again to me just a few seconds ago, pleased others get the same message and perhaps just this
once it hasn't been caused by a Microsoft "update".

Newforest2 14th Jun 2018 05:56

Are you sure?! The new message appeared the first time I logged in after the latest MS update.

It's a protection page step to fend off "Distributed Denial of Service" attacks.

I agree. I have never seen this type of message on pprune but I have seen it on other sites.

I wouldn't worry.

Here is a discussion of a similar protection system

Thank you one and all. The situation is now fully understood, and the reasons behind it are accepted and indeed applauded.

One of the great things about PPRuNe is that usually someone somewhere can assist and is ready and willing to do so :ok:

Much appreciated.

I mentioned it yesterday and observed that just once is okay, but my Favourites tab is how I dart about prune. Of course, it restarts it each time.

That was such a good system. Now it's f . . . not.

This is a temporary security protocol you may see from time to time.

Just seen it for the first time today...?

Been getting this for a while now. Not a major problem but mildly annoying. However, just discovered that my Android phone can't get into PP via the "Cloud" in my local coffee shop. Works fine on WiFi at home and on mobile data.

I just timed the "up to 5 seconds".

Took 23 seconds.
