Curious PPRuNe GUI glitch
Using ie11.
I have run into a problem with replies for the past few days here at PPRuNe. In the visual menu above the reply box where I type, I am able to click on and make happen: Bold Italic Underline Left justify Center justify right justify number bullets block bullets Indent Right Indent left. What I am unable to do is select text and use the hyperlink tool, and oddly enough, select text and use the quote tool. (I can type in the quote /quote in boxed brackets, of course). I also cannot select smilies. I did not check the disable smilies button. In my choices, I selected 3 of 4. X Automatically parse links in text X Automatically embed media (requires automatic parsing of links in text to be on). X Automatically retrieve titles from external links _ Disable smilies in text Do I have my machine set up wrong, or is the BB software getting buggy? Some of the other posters seem to be able to manage the links and quote functions. Thanks for any help you or the tech gurus can provide. |
Do you have any ad-blockers or any other such add-on?
What browser are you using? Have you cleared your browser cache & cookies? SD |
IE11 may be the cause of your problem. For the smilies try copy and paste. not sure about the quotes solution but remember reading of one in another thread some time ago.

When you get to the Reply window, click on the A/A box in the top right-hand corner; the background will change from pale yellow to white, and your troubles are over.

You could try compatibility mode for IE11:

All I have to do now is figure out how to default to that mode. http://www.pprune.org/profile.php?do=editoptions > Miscellaneous Options >Message Editor Interface, set the default to Standard Editor SD |
