What is the matter with pprune
Like many people in this day and age do, I use a VPN for internet browsing to try to keep my computer free of malware. In the last day or two, when I try to access pprune I get an error message stating
ERROR 1009 The owner of this website (www.pprune.org) has banned the country or region your IP address is in (TOR) from accessing this website.
The region they are referring to is a well known, highly civilised and respected country and I cannot access this website without turning it off.
What has brought this on?

Quite simply - risk mitigation.
99% of users don't use TOR, and mostly hackers use TOR. A TOR exit has been detected from the IP address you use for your VPN, so bad luck.
I run several internet web sites (non-aviation related) and typically all access to my website from a TOR exit node are simply scanning for vulnerabilities. Easier to block them entirely - they're not going to spend anything.
PS - using a VPN doesn't "keep your compter free of malware". You are suffering from a bad case of conflation.
