I have now disabled the 'infinite scroll' and find that the pages load a bit faster. Also selected the ClassicNext Gen default and viewing is a lot easier on the eyes.
Ever since I had cataract surgery in both eyes I cannot handle any glare! Hurts like b*****y!
And I see that the old style Forum Jump selector has returned to the bottom of every page.
Now, can we do something about the blank RHS of the page?

Yes. Sort of re: "...the ClassicNext Gen default and viewing is a lot easier on the eyes."
But the font size variations, including tiny faint letters in shades of grey, blue and white, and a gigantic black thread title impair reading, Did an interior designer or something create this? Anyone that reads? Or maybe it is to strategically emphasize the prominent ads in brilliant colors?
Ask V-Bulletin how to show a black font select button somewhere.
(On this modern wide ratio desktop screen, the right margin ad is not taking up much width. So the lines of text run through an unusually wide viewing angle. This might be improved by dropping the basic monitor scale percent viewing number...but then the smaller font texts would be hard to see.)

I already tried that twice before making the complaint.
(Currently on a different machine in chrome)
So, how do I get that other machine to not come up with the mobile skin.
The failure of design is that you can choose it but not choose out of it.
Also, failure to be able to access PM's in that mode.
Why is it that a user can select it but, once in, has no choice to get out? When a UI is designed with pull down options, normally, the option is available when the other mode is chosen.

Not a fan of the new format.
Use my iPad 99% of the time and find the new format cumbersome. When expanding text the ads keep blocking the text...
Would prefer a link to the old version.

Pinky, ironically there is no forum jump for me at the bottom of this page.
Have you disabled the 'infinite scroll?'

The new system on the desktop version is slower to load, has an annoying moving header and equally annoying scroll down pages. I seems that everything has to wait for the advertising to load before one can see the posts.
The smartphone version is a complete waste of time. I have spent two days trying to get into the system – all to no avail. There does not seem to be a way of signing into the system on my android.
I agree with some of the earlier posters – if something is not broken, why fix it.

Some of the other suggestions that work well are to disable infinite scrolling (which seems to fix the problem with overlapping header text, at least on a desktop machine) and to change the default style to ClassicNextGen, which seems a bit easier on the eye, but doesn't have a very high contrast ratio.
I can't find a fix for the font size issues, other than zooming the whole page in or out, which isn't really practical. Ideally, it would be nice to be able to set the main text font size to be a little larger, or decrease the font sizes of the header stuff, and it would be nice to try and get a bit better contrast.
IBobi Try talking to the people on "Rotary Wings" forum they have lost a sizable portion of their posters due to the same type of upgrade?? the old system worked fairly well why mess with things that work.
The try this try that is annoying & suggests desperation, either it works or it is not fit for use, the problems require sorting not sugestions

Recommend either not zooming, not using ipad, or DO use the mobile-optimized skin.

Have to agree that the new site is quite poor in a number of areas. On the iPad I have to zoom just to read the text but that does not work as the ad's then block the text. Don't even ask about use on the iPhone!! Can we get rid of the side ad's as they only serve to squeeze the page that we are trying to read. On the other ad's in the middle, can you place a bar or something on the side that indicates that there is more below the ad. One often gets to the ad and you go no further thinking it is the end of the discussion (??) As for the green button - never seen it on either pc or mobile device? What is that all about? An option to go back to the old format would be good for us oldies! I have been a member for many years and it is close now to having me walk away. Good work NOT!
I like it, but have a suggestion for an improvement...
Either do as some newer forums do and make the action of clicking directly on the thread title take the user direct to the first unread post, OR make the little blue button much bigger. I use a pc or big tablet (in desktop mode) and the blue button is a bit on the small side to use with a mouse, let alone a fat finger on a pad.
