Stopover in Columbo

Hello, I consider flying from Bangkok to Heathrow with
Sri Lankan and taking a short stopover in Columbo.
Can anyone who has been there advise what to do/see ?
Would be max a day or two. Many thanks.

Take train up to Kandy or further to Tea country would be my suggestion depending on schedule for train and your own time. Not much really to see in Colombo itself, maybe cricket if you are a fan and they are playing.
