At last! A better boarding method...er, maybe
Yet another attempt to ease the boarding process. But will this survive reality?
Very ingenious and completely impracticable.
|
The real answer is to have a cargo version of your aircraft, and palletise the passengers before the aircraft is ready for boarding. Simples.

Make like primary school: "ok children, find your travel buddy, hold their hand, stand in line and answer your names...and if you can get a question right, you can have a sweety and a juice when you are at your seat..."
|
The problem is all the idiots who block access to the door even though their section hasn't been called yet.
|
Well, it made me smile. We have discussed boarding in many threads over the time I've been in this forum and I think it can be brought down to a few things:
Please note that I am NOT blaming the Ground Crew - they have simply been trampled by the ill mannered people. |
One more,
Use recordings dammit! It ain't rocket science. |
It's not quite palletised SLF, but SQ has quite a good system at LAX. They have designated seating areas in the gate area by row numbers. Anyone experienced it first hand? Can't imagine that it works much better than any other system, but it's an ingenious idea.
Nrext step would be to program self-boarding gates to only accept rows that have been called |
Good Plan RM2: You put your boarding passing in the gate opens BUT if your row has not been called it directs through a short loop that brings you back into the waiting area AT THE BACK. :ok:

At PVG-Shanghai (lots of space in that terminal), United has boarding area set up with 5 or 6 separate queues (boarding group 1, 2, 3, etc.) with large overhead signs. Works far better than the one- or two-queue systems used elsewhere.

The manual version!
Drench, dock and dagg them at the same time.... |
