Question on missing a leg
Ok, so it looks like the ash is on the way back.
I'm due to fly DUB-LHR-DEL on Monday with BA. It looks like Irish airspace may close because of the ash. I'm considering catching a ferry across to UK tomorrow to catch the main part of my flight LHR-DEL. I've read in a number of places that if you do not turn up for the first leg of a journey the rest is cancelled. This seems to apply for a few airlines, but I cannot find the specific information for BA and cannot get through to their call center. So it I skip DUB-LHR can I turn up in London and take LHR-DEL? The booking was all made as one. The first leg is a BA codeshare. Thanks. |
Normally your second leg would be cancelled - however I would phone the airline in morning and explain you feel more comfortable with a backup plan - based on the latest info from NATS / Met Office I think they may well manually overwrite the rules.
