SLF - where are you ???

This Forum seems to have died, there have been no posts for 5 days, does that mean all SLF are happy and have no complaints at this time ???

They're all in the South Terminal at Gatwick being delayed and trying to spend their free vouchers on shell suits and chips!

BRUpax 15th June 2001 13:49

I'm just about to leave for BRU airport to get on a CY flt to LCA. Maybe all SLF are flying right now!

Just back from Dhaka at 01.30 this morning so the inspiriational juices need to be refreshed ...so watch this space for more comment on air safety, overhead bins, mobiles pax ignoring seat belt signs, and the general lax standards on EK flights....!!(How did they get that 'Airline of the Year Award'?!!)

Surely there is something there to get people going again...!!

The Forum certainly has been deadly quiet for some time. I've been hibernating! Your alarm call woke me up. Now to get a few new topics going again.

Not been on a flight for almost 2 months http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif - still, only another month to go for another "Blighty trip" :) Probably BA next time so I can run them down after http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif

You Called?

Here I am, back at last from LAS. Spent a whole seven (7) days out there. Lost modest amounts of $$. Not too hot, had a cool front moved through Wed/Thur last.

Agree with all, this forum is "deathly silent". :) It is more fun over on Jet Blast looking for the next writings from Flaps Fourty. :)

Ciao from Texas - Y'all

So far in June I have had five sectors, mainly LTN-EDI on EZY but got back yesterday from PMI (Mallorca) with EZY.

Thursday I am LHR-EDI with BD and back on Friday. On Saturday I am LTN-IOM with JE (Manx/BRAL) and back next Tuesday.

My diary tells me that I have done 32 sectors this year but mostly on the LTN-EDI route although there is a JFK in there.

When do you think I have time to write to Prune??!!

Actually, I can think of a question and will start a new thread.

A window seat on the sunny side of the aircraft, please!

dingducky 22nd June 2001 18:43

hey i am here :)
even though i haven't been slf in anything bigger than a cherokee in about 18 years.
my last airline flight was when i was 5 and the memories are very vague. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif
so i am jealous of all you guys that get to fly around the world all the time!

Am now home again, recovering from jet lag (is it still jet lag when you fly west?) and my Bash cold, which does not seem to want to go away. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

The sleep is back on schedule, but my body seems to want breakfast just after midnight, lunch at about 0600, supper at 1200, and a nighttime snack around 1500!

Actually, would like to start a serious topic about being sat in a window seat next to someone who is so fat it looks like he'll take the seat out with him when he gets up. Can you express your concerns to one of the FAs and get your seat switched (or on a full flight, get switched to the aisle seat)? To be fair, a Delta a/c went tech and this guy had been switched to Martinair at the last minute. Not sure if Delta's seats would have been any better . . . the most disgusting sardine experience I ever had was in the cattle class of a Delta 75.

But I digress . . .

Had a very pleasant jaunt RTM-LGW (and back) on CityFlyer/BA. Great view of the harbour on the return flight. RTM is in the process of being renovated, and should soon be quite posh - with a nice viewing terrace.

Had to spend NLG 40.50 on a taxi ride to Rotterdam Centraal Station (a kind PPRuNer drove me to the airport) but was on a train to Tilburg less that 30 minutes after landing at RTM! Easy-peasy since RTM looks to be a little bigger than ATW (Appleton, Wisconsin) and perhaps a little smaller than GRB (Green Bay, Wisconsin). Very pleasant - I'd pop over to the UK via RTM again, rather than hike through Schiphol!

This contrasted with LGW, where the gate number wasn't available until a half-hour before my return flight. (! Not a situation I've ever encountered before, but perhaps not unusual at LGW?) Of course, it provided a good excuse to get a cup of coffee and chat with a charming young man. :)
