Seeking advice: flights to Ethiopia

Hi Ppruners,

I'm travelling to Ethiopia from Australia next June/July - any advice on the best & cheapest airlines/route to get there? Via Europe? India? Middle East?

And any other Ethiopia and Oman travel info would be welcome as well, as I'm planning to visit Oman as well if my budget allows ...

Cheers

Ginny

You can always start with the LP page -

Depending on your passport, you might want to include or avoid Europe. The most flexibility is the middle east, due to the number of carriers.

Competent airlines flying long / medium haul into Ethiopia include:

bmi, Egyptair, Emirates, Ethiopian, Kenya Air, KLM, Lufthansa, Saudi Arabian and Turkish.

If you are travelling from Australia, you may wish to know that Ethiopian fly to/from Bangkok, Hong Kong and Johannesburg. There are no scheduled flights from Singapore or Australia to Ethiopia at present.

You might wish to look at a few airline websites, or somewhere like Travelocity / Opodo to get a better idea of prices and schedules.
