Birmingham to Delhi
Hi All.
I've decided this is crunch time. Despite my avid fear of flying and the endless torment I endure Shamrock flight attendants to (thank you all so much for your patience and reassurance - I'm the claustraphobic flying wimp that regularly sits at seat 29c) I have decided that it is time now for mind over matter . I've been offered the opportunity of a life time, to travel to Delhi, which I would be crazy to turn down. I need to make up my mind asap, which airline/route to fly. Can anybody offer any help? Should I fly direct London to Delhi on BA or Virgin Atlantic, or should I travel from Birmingham on an indirect flight with Emirates, for example. Any suggestions at all that you make are gratefully appreciated. I am thinking of travelling Economy Plus given that this is a holiday of a life time. I have to book the flight tonight or tomorrow at the latest. I'll be travelling next Wednesday and coming back Sunday week, I think. Thank you one and all, and if not censored, can I wish you all a Happy St Patricks Day. Regards Maddie |
Can't speak for Virgin or BA but can definately recommend Emirates, also have you considered KLM via Amsterdam? I've only used them short haul but know people who have flown long haul with them and have given very good reports.
If your a nervous flyer then it would may be best to use your local airport rather than travel down to LHR, it would mean you wouldn't have to leave so early and fears would have less time to build (speaking from experience there). Good luck with whatever you decide:ok: |
You could also try Jet Airways from LHR. I hear the service is fantastic.
Alternatively you could go direct from BHX on Air India. |
Just been to Oz and back with Emirates and can't speak too highly of them. Your problem might be how long a connection time in Dubai - if you are a bit nervous a long wait will not help.
Best of luck UFO |
I would second the advice given here about using Emirates where their service is great and even if you have a layover at Dubai you still have plenty of things to do. I would also try a direct flight from London with Virgin or Jet Airways; if you mention your fears when you are making your reservation they may see that you are well looked after.

Thank you
Hi
Thanks for all your advice. In the end I decided to go with Virgin Atlantic from LHR. Flying next Wednesday night. Really looking forward to it, although very, very nervous about the flying. Maddie |
