Help Please - I need a Bespoke House Nameplate

I have a very good friend and colleague who is retiring after giving most of his life to the aviation industry! His pedigree started with Morton Air Services, British European Airways, Ogdens (Gatwick Handling Agent), British Airtours, Laker and finally, BA.

I wanted to get a house nameplate with a piccy (or engraving) of an aircraft named "DUNCHECKIN" for his holiday home in Florida. Unfortunately, all the nameplates I see on the internet are flowers, animals, houses etc - I don't see any aircraft.

Can anyone out there help, please?

Might be worth asking these folks the question?

Here is another lead, although the company is "over here". http://www.thebronzeplaque.com/

and another http://www.engravedsigns.com/plaques2.htm

and these people seem to understand aeroplanes http://www.awardswv.com/castbr2.htm

and another http://www.citivu.com/rc/sign_shop/cast.html

That ought to hold you for a while.

There is a workshop in the craft centres at Wroxham Barns (a collection of craft workshops), outside Wroxham, Norfolk that will make 'bespoke' house name plaques. Just supply a picture and it will be hand painted onto a plaque along with the name. They do a beatiful job.

Can't remember any more details but you should be able to get a phone number and get hold of the right person (haven't got a Norfolk phone directory to hand here in the sandpit or I would look) They might even have a web site now.

Good luck

Everytime I buy a new house, my dad nips out to the top of Coniston Pass in the Lake District and gets me one made of finest Lakeland slate. I think they might only do numbers though.

The funny thing is that they make him pay in advance because being an American number, they contain many digits. They reckon if he didn't come to pick them up, they could never resell them in England.
