JNB arrivals currency exchange

Am flying in to JNB in a few weeks. Have a ZAR currency card for most purchases but will need some ZAR cash, changing about £100. Is there a currency exchange in intl arrivals? If so is the rate good, or an airport rip-off? Can currently get around ZAR20.00 on the card.

Currency exchange in airports is almost always a rip off, wherever you are in the world
If you're in the UK, have a look at

Thank you, but I am specifically asking for what is available at JNB.

Why not get money from an ATM with your credit card? Normally the easiest and cheapest.

After travelling the world for 50+ years I can assure you that it is not!

It sure is with a credit card without foreign transaction fees and the mid-market rate. Maybe you have not updated your information after 50+ years?

Nearly got my card palmed many moons ago at an atm in the terminal in front of a security guard…take care.

JNB is a regular port of call for me. I have never purchased Rands there, always in advance. Occaisionally, I get extra cash from an ATM using a UK bank card that does not charge extra and rates are good.

Thanks, appreciate your advice.
