Transit through JNB to Windhoek

Am flying to Windhoek from LHR via JNB next week and would appreciate any info on the current passenger situation at JNB. I'm not sure if I will have to go through security again at JNB prior to boarding the onward flight to Namibia.
I have used Fast track a couple of times this summer, once in Edinburgh and also Milan. It did make matters generally easier so will probably consider it for JNB.
Thanks for any comments/feedback

I did EWR->JNB->DUR back in May, and after clearing immigration you had to pick up and recheck your bags (there's a transfer desk right there), and were already outside security, so we had to re-enter for our domestic flight.

We arrived at 6pm, and immigration was a "moderate" wait, maybe 15 minutes?

But Durban is a Domestic onward flight so you have to first clear at JNB -
WDH is not - it is international - so your luggage should be through tagged as interlining from LHR, and you remain airside as a Transit passenger at JNB.
I am sure though you will have another security screen, but you will not exit Passport Control nor Customs.

Have you looked at 'Transit' passengers on the JNB airport website>?
Also Flyertalk forums have a thread running on JNB connections.

Thanks for the info . I will arrive with BA at Terminal A and have to go to Terminal B for the WDH flight. My agent has told me that I will have another security check at Terminal B and has also confirmed my hold luggage will be sent onto the WDH flight.
Thanks also for the web site top, I will take look.

International - International connections at O R Tambo JNB.
For both the outbound and return journeys, bags are through-checked to the final destination. There is no need to collect bags or clear customs. Simply follow the signs to International Transfers.
Recommended minimum connecting time is 60 minutes, provided you are in possession of a boarding pass and your baggage is checked to your final destination.

Thanks for all the feedback, in the end our bags missed the connecting flight at JNB to Windhoek . We had to run to make it as our BA flight was delayed due to not being on stand in time at LHR after maintenance . We did not have to go to Terminal B for the connecting flight to Windhoek, for some reason it departed from A with a Bus transfer to the aircraft.
I had Apple air tags which did help with tracking our luggage until it caught up with us 4 days later. Luckily we had packed with this in mind .
I did have a problem describing the luggage type, size markings etc to the staff at Windhoek so in future will take a photo of it.
