European Transit + Brexit

If I transit an EU airport (FRA to be specific) in January, what Visa requirements will I need for my British passport?

The transit is immediate with a scheduled on the ground of 02:35 hours.

My guess is that 'Nobody Knows'. Naturally, I am contacting the carrier.

Why would it be any different to transitting any other country?

You mean the UK? Where, depending on passport and destination you may need a transit visa or the USA where they simply don't offer transit - you always need a visa/ESTA.

It will be like it was before the UK joined the Common Market: maybe a stamp in a passport, no visa.

Would the onward flight will be to an EU or a non EU country where a visa isn't required by UK passport holders?

Thanks folks. Travelling from CPT to FRA on Lufty with immediate onward connection to LHR on British passport.

I am asking because there have been so many confusing reports since 2016.

Most European hub airports have a big transit business sand do not need a passenger to actually enter their country if they are in immediate transit and duly ticketed, ie they stay airside . If the flights are both LH then ask them , they are responsible for ensuring documents etc are in order. Travel to Europe is a different matter where a UK passport would seem now to have the same value as one from Mali (no dispresct to anyone from there ) .

Agreed, given FRA is a major international hub in all probability you will stay airside...

You are arriving from outside the Schengen Area and your destination is in a non-Schengen country: Usually no passport check is mandatory, provided that that you do not leave the transit zone. Depending on your nationality, you may require a transit visa. If in doubt, please contact an embassy or consulate of your country.
