London-St Tropez charter
I am not sure if this question is even allowed here so if it is against the forum commerical rules please mod me out.
I am looking for a charter/air taxi in the next month, route as the title, for two pax in something reasonably economical such as a King Air or Mustang. The big companies companies we have contacted so far are offering 12 seater jets which is way over the top for the task. The return will be negotiable so essentially it is two single sectors. No shared flights as the pax cannot share a cabin due to fear of contracting a virus which in their case would be fatal. Does anyone have a favourite operator they use from a London area airport? Many thanks |
What about JetFly ? They use PC-12's and I've noticed a few of them operating from small airfields on the Cote D'Azure and Italian Med recently going into Denham, NW London. As to cost, i'm not sure, but it might be worth a look.

Synergy's Mustang at Blackbushe looks to be pretty busy at the moment. They have King Air's as well, operate them from there and Fairoaks.

Don't you have to be a contracted co-owner to use their services? |

I think they're 'fractional ownership'. |
Have you tried Smart Aviation at Gatwick? They may be able to arrange something smaller to suit your requirement.

From driving past reasonably frequently, La Mole airport seems to be where most small charter aircraft use for this part of the coast, indeed I believe the name has been changed to reflect this.

Although based at Gloucestershire, these guys have a range of aircraft - https://thelittlejetcompany.com/aircraft-guide/

Thanks for asking Anxiao. It is not the normal kind of question in this forum but I am glad that the cabin have come up with options for you. As our forum is quiet these days (for some reason :() I am happy for there to be conversation.

You could try to get in contact with Fly7 / Hendell Aviation, now part of the JetFly Group.

Many thanks for these replies, most helpful. We'll get onto them in the next couple of days and see what is available.

Hi anxiao,
Be aware some of the companies mentioned above are brokers rather than operators, and as such will add commission. Going back a few years, I used to arrange regular charters with fixed wing (and rotary) operators, and would definitely recommend Synergy Aviation - they were always our 'go to' company for smaller aircraft. Others such as 2Excel and SaxonAir are definitely worth a look too, and some of the other bigger operators such as Gama, Bookajet, Centreline do operate smaller aircraft too (I have arranged charters with all of these in the past, except 2Excel). No personal experience, but there are some smaller operators too, such as Alto Aerospace, Eagle European, Zephr Aviation, all with UK-issued AOCs, and may be more cost effective options. One last suggestion, I understand that EscapeTime (part of British European Aviation, who also own HeliAir) have recently been granted an AOC for SET-IMC charters in a PA46 M600. Not sure of the range to be honest, but as it's a single could be the most cost effective option if you're comfortable with that. Hope the above helps! h14 |
Globeair only fly Mustangs and you could be lucky with finding an empty leg on their website. Also Flying Group are a Citation operator.

La Mole is very limited for Commercial ops, a CJ certainly can't operate CAT there, a Mustang is also on the edge. I think Globe Air doesn't go there anymore after safa checks.
A PC12 or TBM is your best bet for a charter, still not many on an AOC though. Get1Jet or Hendell are common at La Mole Maybe Synergy with a King Air can do it if they have qualified pilots as La Mole needs local training for every pilot |
Thanks for that info deing, will pass that on to the client incase he thinks he is being given the run around about where they will take him. On G. Earth is looks conveniently close to their destination but I appreciate that it is not a straightforward operation.

I used to fly there very often in a King Air but now flying a bigger jet we need to go to Toulon/Hyeres, 35 min longer drive plus some more security hassle
|
Do the CAA now allow Singles to undertake Commercial operations?
|
Yes, some single engine turbines (PC12,TBM,C208,P46T) although with restrictions regarding distance from airports etc
