Zero cabin baggage on Finnair/BA transatlantic code share?
I have a flight, to USA, which is BA aircraft but a codeshare with Finnair. It says no baggage, after chatting with Finnair was given a link to BA, which gives 23Kg as cabin allowance. This all seems a bit odd to me. Would like to hear opinions on the possibility of transatlantic flights with zero baggage, including zero cabin

It looks as though you have bought a BA basic fare which has no checked baggage allowance, probably through a third party agent. If they didn't tell you there was no allowance, you may have a justified complaint, if you just assumed there was and didn't read all the fare rules, then you will be delighted to know bags cost £40 each way. All of a sudden it may not seem like such a bargain after all.,

@san diego did a search for BA " basic fare" and came up with

Current info for BA passengers here, hand baggage only fares, only on selected routes.
https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...age-allowances the 23 kg is consistent..:oh: ... |

To get away with this - you would have to prove their website fault with no chance of them denying it! Be interesting to see how long until it is corrected.

I just booked my own flight to the US from EU via American, return on BA, and was also a bit surprised by the zero checked baggage allowance on what is now being called basic economy. But there it is. Lufthansa has the same thing, only they charge even more for a checked bag. Haven't checked Air France lately. |
