Ba food service
Hi
Quick question when BA do their food service on say a long haul economy flight do they start from the back and go to the front or the front to the back. Cheers |
In economy, one from the front and one from the back and meet in the middle.
|
Thanks. ........

Unless you have pre ordered a special meal then it comes before the start of the service.

Shhhh. Don't give away the secret! ;) |
Did LHR/ZUR & LHR/Lemnos in the last few weeks. Food was chaos on the way back on both. Staff hate the return leg as there is never enough of the right thing and they get it in the neck from pax and BA for not meeting sales targets. Talk to the crew as you go on if you really want something.
But much better; stick it to BA with their RYA attitude towards ripping off pax and buy something from Pret before boarding. |
OP was asking about long haul, not about buying M&S in the air.
BTW, yes pre-ordering a special meal is an option but you forego any opportunity to receive an upgrade. |
From what I hear you would do better at M&S on the ground for both long and short haul flights regards service and delv :E I will get my flack jacket !

BA also (successfully) evaded my trying to get seating sorted on medical grounds (a Dementia sufferer who needs to be alongside her husband. Doesn't matter where, just needs to be alongside him. They claim you can do it but try it. Its a farce and it was only thanks to some humanity from the crew that we got it sorted. I only fly BA if there is no other practical choice and always regret it. They say bad things come in threes. Oleary and Walsh have certainly done their bit for making flying unpleasant ? Who is the 3rd irishman? |

KISS ... Keep It Simple Stupid ... Don't fly with BA!

So a simple question on how the food is served on BA long haul has turned into an attack on BA! Used BA for many years but not so much lately.
Back to the question, Mrs J always has a veggie meal pre ordered and has been upgraded a couple of times! |

Upgrade to Club - not happening |
Sorry but we have been upgraded to club, can and has happened.

Jarvy I agree - Mrs Musket requires has special meal which is served LONG before normal meal service. She's finished by the time I am served mine so her tray table being open for so long is a real nuisance.

Quick question when BA do their food service on say a long haul economy flight do they start from the back and go to the front or the front to the back. - meal service not commencing until 2.5 hours into flight, and then being completely shambolic - meal service starting from the back of the cabin (never seen this before!) That was a YYZ flight. This passenger was seated towards the front of the cabin, probably the 777. I also hear that in Y, you must order your dinner drinks from the drinks cart that precedes the meal trolley. I'd suggest that if you have time, you seek out a recent trip report for your route. |
Thanks for the advice. I will have a look.

If you want good food on BA long haul pre-select hindi or kosher.....bloody good veg curry or cracking salmon!

Was this recently, as I always get upgarded on a full flight when no meal is ordered. But whenever I do there has been no upgrade from wtp |
