Qatar Airways IFE

Hi guys new poster here with a quick question.
I was on a qatar flight from Perth to Doha the other night and the back of the video screen was very hot. I mean really hot, couldn't hold my hand on it for more than a few seconds. Now I wouldn't be in the habit of doing this but I was wondering if its normal for the screens to get that hot?

Cheers guys.

Something like this needs to be brought to the crews attention immediately. A Swiss Air aircraft was lost due to an electrical fire involving IFE.

Had four flights on QR A320s over Xmas/NYand noted the same. The off switch didn't turn off the heat either, just turned off the screen.

Result was a very warm cabin and many complaints to FAs. Their response was 'It's always like this'. Didn't see any sign they advised the guys in the pointy end and things didn't improve.

Oh, out of four screens two were broken - and still hot.

2 1/2 star service.

This was on a 77W, the 330 200 I was on from Doha to Manchester didn't have the same problem, the screens were a little warm but not alarmingly hot like the 777.
I only posted about it a week later as I genuinely feel it could be an issue and its been in my mind since. I have the aircraft reg, is there anyone that could be told about this and would anything come of it?

Contact Qatar airways direct from the website.

I'm travelling Man-Doh-Mnl on February 16, Airbus A330 first then onto Boeing 777.
