UK CAA confirms plans for creation of aviation ombudsman
CAA confirms plans for creation of 'aviation ombudsman' - www.travelweekly.co.uk
The Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed it is to end its role as a complaint handler and pass over the responsibility to an "aviation ombudsman". The watchdog - similar to Ofgem which regulates the energy sector – is described by the aviation regulator as a “major step forward” for consumers. It paves the way for travellers to get “quick, fair and binding solutions” to their disputes with airlines on issues such as flight delay compensation.... |
How much?
The UK CAA Directors pay them selves between £200,000 and 320,000 per annum. They pay each other about £30,000 per annum in bonus payments.(Source - Annual Report). Plus, they have one of the most generous "Gold plated" Pension schemes in the public sector.
So how much will they pay themselves for this new wheeze? |
Gee, are they reinventing the Air Transport User's Council? That didn't take them long, did it?
|
Standby for another hike in licensing fees - first complaint for the Ombusman to sort out? -Some hope!
|
Of course License fees will go up.
You don't expect BA to pay for this, do you? |
