DFW is 2 hours enough for immigration and flight transfer?
Hi folks,
Need some help on the above travelling ORK/LHR/DFW/MCO in November on EI/BA/AA/AA long way around yes but that's another story is 2 hours enough time to do what is needed flights all booked by AA.com, on the one ticket AA.com says yes but would anyone agree? Your opinions are appreciated |
I can't speak to the passport control and customs setup at DFW, but it appears there are many, many flights throughout the day between DFW and MCO, which as you might imagine is a very popular destination. And so worst case, you probably won't be too much later than originally planned. DFW is AA's largest hub.

I went through DFW on way to LAS a few years ago with no problem with a tight connection, one if the better US points of entry, if I remember correctly.
As always the time to get through immigration will depend on number of staff on duty and number of arriving international flights in a short space if time. Once through customs, look for the bag transfer belt, give them your bag and go straight to your gate for MCO. Have a great holiday. |
Thanks for the replys folks
looks like it should be ok and all should work out your replies are apprecited you cant beat the knowledge from people passed thru the airport thanks guys EI787FAN |
This will be fine, usually arrive into DFW early when coming from LHR, American have a system now if you have a very tight connection your inbound flight is met and you get to use a priority lane at immigration and security. I think this also applies to transfers arriving on British Airways

You will have no problems at all, i fly into DFW at least twice a month and id suggest getting yourself into immagration as quickly as possible, this is a big advantage. The first queues of people on the left when you enter the immigration hall are US citizens (i take it your not ?) if not keep walking and you will see what seems like the neverending zig zag line for non US citizens. There will be at least 3 officials dedicated to that line so make any of them aware of your connection, they will either advise that your queueing time is ok or will prioritise you and take you through.
Do prepare yourself for the DFW immigration officer having a good laugh with you, cracking funnies and greeting you with open arms to the US of A..........NOT |
Thanks for the info, all help appreciated
I am not a US citizen so the other lines are for me hopefully I will have enough time hope the CBP staff are having a good day when I arrive thanks for your help, it all makes the transit easier EI 787 FAN |
