Liverpool security

What's the latest at LPL. Is the new security area up & running yet ?
Whats the average time at busy periods to get thro' security?
MAN T1 is very busy at the mo, but even when the queue stretches out the door-it only takes 20 minutes to get out the other side.

It's still a construction site upstairs; downstairs the original security screening area is unchanged and still in use (although they did seem to be using all lanes for the first time I can remember). I've just done a 1pm flight where the queue was up the stairs and despite having snakeing lines at the bottom, I was through in about 20 mins tops.

No idea what it is like first thing of a morning though...

How come that busy US airports manage to get people through quickly? Is it just that they provide enough staff and enough lanes, rather than economising as UK airports seem to do?
