Winter BA Club World Sale fares now available!(£1200 to NYC)
Hi,
I have just seen this on BA.com ( Club World sale fares for 20Nov08-Mar09) example fares ( inc taxes) NYC £1200 BOS £1300 IAD£1350 SFO£1700 LAX £1700 Vancouver £1800 Chicago£1550 Book by end November. For US routes you can upgrade to First Class from these fares for £500 one way ( £1000 retun) Regards TBS |
These fares were inevitable once the degree of economic "meltdown" became clear, particularly in the financial services' sector. There must be panic at Waterworld given the airline's dependence on Club passengers for its profits. I wouldn't be surprised if the fares drop again after Christmas so it might be worth holding back right now.
I expect cuts of this order to be available on other routes at some point. There'll be some excellent bargains to be had, I think (hope!). P.S. What chance now for the Lucy-NY 'bus service? |
It couldn't happen to a nicer company :ok:

Having just had the pleasure of a BA First class seat to Tokyo and Back (on the airmiles) if you've got the extra 1K go for it - it was very very good indeed - and get to T5 early - loved the massage and Concorde lounge.

I must say that having experienced First on two occasions (one an "involuntary" upgrade from Club, the other a "travel one way in First, the other in Club" offer), it's definitely not worth another £500 each way. This is especially true if one can secure one of the many desirable upper deck seats on 747 flights.
It will be interesting to see what the new First product looks like. The current one, in my view, is just too similar to Club to differentiate it. |
Hi Seat62K,
I very much like 62K on the Upper Deck ( and I assume you do to!):ok: although 62A is also a very nice seat. I'm off to LAX next week ( £1700 CW sale from the Summer plus 50k miles to upgrade to F) :) Regards TBS |
Those are good prices.
I wondered if BA had actually realised there was a bit of a downturn coming when they quoted £9325 return for First to Tokyo last week. I just thought I'd check but when you can get a corporate deal with VS for £3400, well it's a teeny bit hard to justify..:p Ah yes, Club 62 A & K. And if some b*****s had already snaffled them then 60 A & K were next best. Sadly, VS use Airbus on most of the legs I fly so the Upper Deck is a fading happy memory. As is being able to look out the window without breaking my neck. |
Yes, 62K is my favourite place in the sky! It was suggested to me by BA check-in staff at Terminal 4 one day. Mind you, in terms of the number of sectors flown, I'm more likely to be found sitting in my next favourite seat - 33C or 33D on a Ryanair 737-800!

64K for me, more privacy:ok:

Why not on South American routes?

Lucky I delayed booking my business trip to Miami in December by a couple of days, saved the company nearly 2000 pounds :)
I am also a bit sad that on the way back from Australia we are now on a 777, I always go for the upstairs 62a/k it is just the best place to be in the air! |
