Severe weather predicted in Scotland on Thursday

Apologies in advance if i have posted in the wrong forum - I am a PPL but my question relates to my family's travel plans for this coming Thursday (8th Nov).

My wife, son and I are due to fly from GLA to LHR on BD009 at 15.15 and then out on NZ038 from LHR to HKG at 21.15 on an award ticket in business.
If you've seen the weather forecast for Thursday, its for severe weather affecting most of Scotland and NW Scotland - http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/..._warnings.html

Given the strength of the wind speeds, I'm not sure if flights will operate from GLA. Are there any pilots here who could comment on the likelihood of flights operating in these forecast conditions? This is the first sector of a trip of a lifetime for us and if we need to make alternative plans with an earlier flight to LHR we need to move quickly - any advice, experiences would be so appreciated. thanks

According to the forecast, disruption would be likely. Impossible to predict how much or how long. If I were in your situation, I would try and leave earlier for peace of mind. Not good for Glasgow, maybe not quite so bad for Aberdeen due to runway alignment.

If it's that important to make the connecting flight, then travel to London earlier, by train if necessary. How about catching a train to Manchester and flying from there?

thanks for the replies. We are on rewards tix with bmi and have managed to bring the GLA-LHR flight forward to this evening so hopefully everything will be ok. :)
