Jetlag
Im guessing this isnt the right forum for this post so sorry if its wrong place, but would mods pls tel em where u moveme so i can go look thanks..
We are flying to Singapore with our 10yr old in Dec..... my experience of flying from west to east isnt great, i get exhausted and i guess lagged. We will be leaving london midday and 12 hrs later arrivng Singapore at aprox 7.30am. None of us sleep on a plane so our body will be at midnight or at least 2am by time we get to our hotel. What should we do? i think we will be exhausted, should we go straight to bed for a few hrs, and then wake up mid afternoon? there is no way we can stay awake al the day. Any ideas would eb greatly appreciated thanks |
Sleep when your body wants to. Arrange to get into the hotel early - as they may have an 11:00 or 12:00 check-in.
Sleep for five or six hours and you may well find that you are sleepy again at 'normal' bed time. |
I second PAXboy's recommendation.

Yes, sleep when you need it.
Wake up later in the day and take the opportunity to explore some of Singapore's night activities. Start with the night safari at around 6-7pm, then go and see the Christmas lights in Orchard Road (they will be up in December), then have dinner later at one of the hawker centres, or a late night restaurant. Singapore is one of the world's 24 hour cities, so there shouldn't be any problem finding something to do later on, even with a 10 yr old in tow. |
The other thing that we do - (which helps us with the jet-lag) is to reset your watch to your arrival countries time as soon as the aircraft takes off...................and try and work on that time the whole flight. Our flights normally involve a 7 to 8 hour time difference and if you are only there for 4/5 days you don't have time to be jet-lagged:hmm:

SIN for 10 yr olds
Hey the love kids there, suggest you post on the Fragrant Harbour (you I know HKG. but the folks have input) site, they'll have some suggestions. It is fun in the evening and a 10 year old will learn heaps and be well looked after.
