Aer Lingus A320s - Why don't they fill the front two rows?
I've noticed that in the all-economy Aer Lingus A320s, they leave the front two rows empty, only filling them if every other seat on the plane is taken.
Does anyone know why they'd do this? |
Probably because the gate agents announce that the beer trolley will start from the back! ;)

Not always weight and balance - I've had to move 8 pax to the front 2 rows of an otherwise full EI A320 for weight and balance. Could have been due to having all the bins in the back though.
I think it might just be EI's preferred method of seat allocation - filling it up from the back to the front. It also gives the FA's a bit of breathing space - I'm sure they appreciate the little bit of seperation they get from their customers! |
I think your last observation's probably nearest the truth Taffer!!!

When using Fast Pass at DUB I alwaysuse the "change seat" option and take a seat in row 1 or 2 if seats are available.
|
I was using Fastpass at ORK on Tuesday morning and these rows showed up as occupied, even though there was nobody in them when I got on the plane and there was only 7 or 8 seats available in the rest of the plane.
