Surely in many people's eyes, "UK's worst call centre" is still better than "India's best call centre"?

HMRC are crap, but SAS really take the biscuit - who said the Vikings weren't robbing and pillaging any more? First, it's an 0871 number charging 10p a minute. The you get 2 minutes of crap BS before you can actually talk to anybody. I wouldn't have called except their crap website crashed at the end of my booking and i could not find out any other way if I had a booking or not.

In UK avoid high call charges by using the website SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers for alternatives

Farci - yes a useful resource but not every number has a geographic alternative. The 0800 ones are the worst as they seem to make out that they are doing you the decency of making a free call but they cost a fortune from some mobiles.

Use 0800Buster.co.uk: Call 0800 Numbers Free From Your Mobile [ 01229 31 0800 ]

Had a reservation on an SAS flight, codeshare with bmi, booked through bmi.

Called to ask SAS if I could bring the flight forward 24hrs as my business had concluded a day early: after checking they said "no" it's a bmi codeshare check with them.

Checked with bmi and they said, "yes you can change but it's going to cost you lots". Natch I declined.

When I gets to check in SAS in ARL tell me that I don't have a reservation: long and short of it is they had cancelled my reservation without telling me when I made the enquiry: not happy!

Your contract is with the airline you purchased the ticket from, regardless of whose metal you fly on. Wherever possible you should deal with them and not the operating carrier.

If SK cancelled your booking you still had a contract with BD and they are responsible for fulfilling it. If you suffered any losses due to SK's cancellation you should be seeking redress from BD.
