United Flight 1492 from Chicago to Dayton returned to Chicago after a passenger uttered some threats, not sure of any more details... just happened 2 hrs ago

Yep, these days it's not a good time to be mouthing off, here's another recent UAL case involving a civil rights advocate and college president:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Fisk University's new president, Clinton administration Energy Secretary Hazel O'Leary, was escorted off a flight and questioned by the FBI after she became abusive and tried to get into the cockpit while the plane was delayed on the tarmac, authorities said.
O'Leary said she simply wanted to get off the plane.
``I regret the unfortunate misunderstanding that occurred,'' she said in a statement. ``The situation was resolved. At no time was I rude or disrespectful to anyone.''
The United Airlines crew told police that O'Leary was ``getting loud and abusive'' after the flight was diverted to Richmond, Va., because of storms Thursday night, said Cpl. Frank Donkle of the Richmond International Airport Police.
A flight attendant restrained O'Leary when she tried to get into the cockpit, Donkle said, and she was escorted off the Nashville-to-Washington flight and questioned by the FBI.
Airport spokesman Troy Bell said he was not aware of any charges filed.
O'Leary, 67, became president of Fisk, in Nashville, earlier this month.

Dow Jones: Japanese Man Arrested After English Lesson Misinterpreted
CHICAGO (AP) A Japanese man flying to Ohio was arrested after he was seen writing down the words "suicide bomb," but he was released without charge after explaining that it was an impromptu English exercise.
The 60-year-old man told investigators he came across the words in a newspaper and wanted to look up their meaning, police spokeswoman Alice Casanova said.
"He teaches himself English by reading newspapers," she said. "It was all just a miscommunication."
The man was aboard United Airlines flight 1184 en route to Dayton, Ohio, on a business trip Sunday when a fellow passenger spotted the words and alerted an attendant, Casanova said.
The flight returned to O'Hare International Airport, where the man was taken into custody and all of the other 120 passengers were taken off the plane and re-screened.
Investigators also searched the plane. "Nothing panned out and he was released," Casanova said.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Andrea McCauley said travellers need to be mindful of how they behave on aircraft because potential security threats are treated very seriously.
"We caution people not to write about bombs because if they're going on vacation, their travel plans will be disrupted," she said.

Its all well and good them checking the brains in before the flight but have you seen them boarding a flight and bringing their huge suitcases into the cabin with them???? Surely someone should be assigned to wardrobe duty so that when things do go astray, someone can pull their brain out and offer leadership!!!!
