Also Capt Ron Black, a WW2 veteran, then on to TAA. A excellent pilot, a exceptional man, and a good friend. Bruce and Ron may you find that aircrew bar in the sky and meet many old mates.

Indeed,

A gentleman who was a gentleman in every respect.

What a dull place the world will become as the likes of Bruce take their last long flight Home.

Some like Bruce, but none better.

This is a sad day. Time for a quiet scotch and a long look through the logbooks.

Bruce Read

What an honour to have been one of a 'flock' of Eagles of whom Bruce Read was a born leader, yet a modest gentleman.

I remember Bruce very well when we were neighbors in East Doncaster in the late 70's and early 80's.

Always a gentleman. Very generous with his time. An avid Fitzroy fan at the time as I recall. A regular at the members pavilion at the junction oval on a Saturday afternoon.

Condolences to Bruce's family. An immeasurable loss.

For the sake of what and those you leave behind. Godspeed and tailwinds.

Selah.
