Mishap at Apollo Bay.

Does anyone know what happened at Apollo Bay ALA today (2/10/2009)?This strip can be treacherous when it gets wet and becomes soft.

Enema Bandit's Dad 2nd October 2009 11:17

Sounds to me like it must have rained then. :}

MyNameIsIs 2nd October 2009 15:28

Wasn't YAPO sealed a while ago???

snoop doggy dog 2nd October 2009 16:05

Apparently is was treacherously soft because it rained there today :ouch:

No one knows why :hmm:

Ultralights 2nd October 2009 21:51

this is a long shot, but i think it might be due to the fact that rain, being made of a liquid type stuff, and soil being porous, and as a result of these 2 combining during a passing cloud event, resulted in the surface structure of the soil softening to a point where it can no longer support the weight of anything without deforming. aircraft included.

OK, I think we all understand about rain, slippery/soft surfaces etc. Now, how about anyone who knows tell us what happened, type of a/c, any damage and the like along the lines that the first poster enquired.

Thank you Zanzibar. Don't you hate sarcasm when it's not even clever?
Like you, I have an interest in what happened at YAPO, if anything. It's on my list of places to visit sometime.

Heard that an aircraft 'tipped over' and no injuries.
