G'day. Just to take advantage of this thread and not open another one, I was wondering what are the minimum requirements in PNG for a Cessna 206/210 or even Caravan job. Would you need also an IR or a NVFR would be enough? Of course, a list of operators would be also helpful.
Cheers.

I think you will find that NVFR does not exist in PNG. Or it never used to anyway. Any operation at night must be under the IFR. So I would think most operators would want an IR. Unless you want to fly out your career in a C206.

Just do a search guys, the subject has been bought up b4 many times.
Other operators that still exist are North Coast Aviation and South West Air.
There are also the mission operators if you are religious.

You need a minimum of 1000 hours to get a go in a 206 or 208.
Co-pilot in a Otter or Bandit you could get a go with a bare CPL,although I think you would also require an IFR rating,as just about all of the Otters and remaining airworthy Bandits have no autopilots fitted.

I also forgot,Pacific have the remains of the old Airlink fleet,up at Goroka as well now,Mal is operating the last remaining 404 to support his helicopters around the country.

Good luck.

I think you will find that 500hrs is required to hold a CPL or to operate as PIC in PNG.

IFR rating would be a must for all companies except NCA but for your own safety I wouldnt go to PNG with out 1. Plus 1 day I'm assuming you would want to operate as a Captain.

There use to be acouple of other companies out of Hagen that operate BN2 c207 BE58 etc but careful they may not have an AOC :E
