clip wing C172

Whats with the clip wing C172 in Hn!

Apparently CTC had an accident the other day.
Prop+Wing = BAD:=:=:=

3 aircraft in one day at HN...

2 involved in the 'clip wing' incident... and another 172 that apparently came up short of the grass and took out a threshold marker board...

The 'crease' in the firewall where the nosewheel strut is attached and the big ding in the starboard mainwheel strut fairing (where it attaches to the fuselage) do not look very healthy (or cheap)!

:suspect:

From a CTC webblog:

Drama on the apron
Thursday, 12 June 2008
Yesterday must’ve set some kind of new record, with 3 aeroplanes being broken in one day!

Someone managed to hit the marker boards at the end of the grass runway (pretty easily done), resulting in some broken spats on one of the Cessnas.

Later on, someone else decided to fire up their Alpha too close to the edge of a taxiway- when someone else taxied past in their Cessna they promptly had the end of their wing sawn off by the other aircraft’s prop. Oops. Luckily no-one was hurt (save a bit of pride maybe), but it was amazing to hear the stories of how easily the prop cut through the wingtip-like butter apparently. Here’s some piccys.

How easily done? Only with your eyes closed.

Some broken spats? What about the firewall damage and the bent nose leg and engine mount?

Well the clipped wing C172 isn't such a bad idea, maybe that would make them respond a bit better to aileron inputs.
