Wheels up at YPKU

Any one know what happened with the wheels up at Kununurra?

Yakka 21st Aug 2003 19:39

What "wheels up" was this - the Slingair 210 that happened a few days ago (before their 310 landed short of the strip) or (God forbid) has there been ANOTHER one?!

kiki 21st Aug 2003 21:54

bet Mr Slingair isnt too impressed.

Continental-520 21st Aug 2003 23:46

Definitely not...

To add to that, I heard on ABC radio a few weeks ago their airport offices got broken into and some stuff stolen from a safe. All the local cops had to say was that "the offender(s) could be likely to have some inside knowledge of the premesis". No kidding!

520.

anyone know who was flying, initials will be fine

GoNorth 23rd Aug 2003 22:08

one of the female pilots

Raingauge 24th Aug 2003 21:51

Would this be the same girl who ground looped a few weeks ago?? Makes you wonder about their check and training:;)
And by the way, are they still treating the pilots like crap up there and making them work like dogs?.....just wondering.

GoNorth 25th Aug 2003 16:09

That's an affirm Raingauge :}

Seems like the morale at this company has changed drammatically over the last few years. It appears that the team effort has dissappeared and been replaced ?

Once upon a time it was a great place to work and I was envious of the guys that scored a gig there.

Any opinions?

Mach 0.92 26th Aug 2003 22:53

Does anyone know the call sign of the C210 that had the wheels up at KU ? I assume the slingair 310R was VH-TWY....
thanks anyone !

druglord 27th Aug 2003 00:57

raingauge,
are you planning to go up there again??? I hope not! drop me line when you get a chance, I hear you're the last of the mohicans these days.

GoNorth 27th Aug 2003 08:14

VH-NLV was the 210. Don't think that is the correct rego for the 310 Mach.

Motor Plane Driver 27th Aug 2003 15:37

I beleive that SA doesn't operate TWY anymore. The 310 was a new addition to the fleet this year. Don't know the call sign but it was really nice inside and out, always the way the nice planes bite the dust and the dogs keep flying.

GoNorth 28th Aug 2003 11:38

VH-MPZ was the 310

Crash & Burn 28th Aug 2003 13:33

Second time that aircrafts been pranged in the last 5 or so years.

It's also been for an 'excursion' at Merredin when previously owned by China Southern.

It is/was a good aeroplane though.

Raingauge 29th Aug 2003 08:42

Druglord,
G'day mate, no I won't be heading up that way in the near future.....thank goodness. Yes I'm the last of the mohegans, it's not the same without the old crew here. Will mail you soon.
