Man accused of sitting pilot tests for Saudi
Hey Anti Skids On, a fellow aero-club member has finally been caught, is he a friend of yours?
6 August 2003 Police have arrested a man they claim was sitting private and commercial pilot licence tests on behalf of a Saudi Arabian man. The 27-year-old from the Auckland suburb of Otara is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court today. Police began their investigation after being alerted by aviation authorities. Their inquiry centres on a New Zealand citizen allegedly passing himself off as a recently-arrived Saudi national. Detectives picked up the New Zealander after he completed an examination at the Tauranga Aero Club last night. The man is facing five charges. Police inquiries are continuing. © 2003 NZCity, IRN |
