Ansett aircraft in France

Taxiing in at Bordeaux the other day. Noticed in the middle of a whole load of mothballed aircraft was an Ansett airbus.

Anyone know how it got there or why?

Quite a spooky site!!

Most of them that are overseas are owned by leasing companies that have paid for the aircraft to be taken elsewhere, some ended up in the USA, some in France and a few in Germany I believe. Where they will all end up is anyones guess!

At least 3 Ansett B737s (I'm informed) have gone to Jet2, low cost start up in England.

A good report on the Ansett aircraft movements, is filed here
