Standard letter postage charge?

Can someone tell me the cost of posting a standard letter within Australia, please? (I’ve heard that it’s gone up recently.)

flyboy6876 13th Mar 2003 05:24

Standard postage is now 50c.

flyboy6876 13th Mar 2003 07:03

Sweet Jesus, Fly Boy,

If that's your birthday I had just gone solo at Point Cook with the RAAF when you were popped out!

Can't tell you how much a stamp was though...

All so young.
I remember when it went from 3d. to 31/2d.!
For you youthful baskets, the "d." was the symbol for a penny.:cool:

TTT - Lapun Tru! :D

I remember when a "bottle of cordial" was 4 1/2 d with 3 d deposit back on the bottle! (Late 50's)

And one hour flying training in a Chippie was 4/10/- (early 60's) (can't find the pound symbol!)

And a new Holden cost 800 quid! (1950) :O

And I earned 8/10/- per week - $17 per week. (1961) :mad:

And only 30 years ago beer in PNG was $4.50 per carton! :D

And I started with Junior at TAL on $7,000 per annum! (1973) :}
