Eastern Interview Stage Two
 

Guys and Girls,

Just after a bit of information regarding the Eastern Stage Two Interview. I have to do a Simulator flight and Interview. Hows the Sim? What approaches should i expect? What questions are common in the interview ect.

China, if you are slated for 11 March, you should have already received the relevant information by the recruiting people, including what approaches to expect.

Sim is about 1 hour including briefing. Interview about 45 mins.

"Easterns" is either plural, or possessive as in "Eastern's". Try not to say it in the interview, as neither apply.:yuk:

I've done that one. What you have to watch is the speed of the stupid sim. It's ## fast. In most cat B pistons you never have to watch your max missed app speed - but in this you do! Don't worry about the interview, just say i'm joe bloggs and I can fly planes!

As Jarse said study the terminal section for the sim ride because he asks you about the approach plate you use and asks you to brief the approach. Sim has its instruments set all over the place so you have to get your scan going. Very old fashioned instruments. Sim seems to have some jet characteristics like underslung engine power up pitch up trim . Goes like PC9 and can be slippery. Just relax. Sim guy is pretty good bloke.

Interview is a behavioural type, like Qantas int to a large degree. Quite easy going guys but don't let your guard down. Just be yourself and be confident. Need to think of situations you have been in and relate them when asked. Might get asked about what descent rate needed to lose for example 10000' in 30 miles at 300kts. Some basic IFR type questions. What do you think CRM is, are you a good captain, have you had a problem with another crewmember and how did you handle it, why should we employ you over someone with more experience, ever scared yourself, what happened what did you learn.....

Not in crewing/dispatch department. Still very much flying the line flyswat. Done the interview and talked to enough guys to be told it performs like pC9. Done enough sim practice to know what underslung engines are like to so don't drag this into the gutter and help the lad if you have something constructive to say. Otherwise "buzz" off.

I felt sorry for this guy asking for help and being given crap info because "you" pass "yourself" off as professional pilots ("you" and I mean all of you.) DO NOT send him off chasing his tail for your own gratification. Just remember this is important for him and not a joke.:mad:

Did ya get passed over for an interview there or did you miss out altogether? One or the other judgeing by the way you respond to anything to do with Easterns.
