Virgin Blue interview

Has anyone been given an interview date with DJ in March yet ?

No, but I know of a chap that was given 2 months holiday ( unpaid of course ) after having resigned from his job to go to VB, nice that.:yuk:

Bummer! :(

Obviously no one is prepared to announce their good fortune of getting an interview.

Those that have, good luck!

Servo.

I'm with Stupid,

I think that you mioght find that your friend with 2 months leave (unpaid of course!) only has himself to blame..

Ask yourself this question...

If you were offered a job with a start date of say the end of April, but decided to do the endorsement and resign early would you do it?

How would you feel if you played by the rules and someone did exactly that and jumped in in front of you? What if that person then got a crack at a command earlier than you because they had an earlier start date? Would you be happy?

NO? Well now you know why that person has two month unpaid leave.

I wonder if your friend is the same person that rang one of the very senior check and training management people and gave him an earfull...a career limiting move if I ever saw one!!

Think about how an employer would view an employee that rings up a management pilot and gives him a blast when he hasn't even started his employment yet!!

Dehavillanddriver ,
I agree with your post but would still like to know what is happening re interviews in march ???

Dehavillanddriver,

I believe the letter from Virgin (if you get the nod) says something along the lines of "we expect your proficiency check to be no later than the end of (say) April". If you are able to obtain the endorsement on your licence before the month that they specify then of course anyone would. Its not about playing by the rules. Virgin gives you a date by which you must have the Endorsement. Virgin can choose to prof check you earlier if they wish or (like they are doing now) wait until the month they specified.

In any rate they will only check you when a position is available and due to a lack of aircraft at the moment they will hold off untill they said they need you.

Cheers

Tixy

Timezone,

From what I have seen pilot intake has slowed down. Interviews few and far between.

I’m with stupid,

Your friend has put his foot into it this time.

Tixylicks,

Just remember VB has the right to change or modify their plans. In this case the person was brought forward by his training organisation not VB.
